Happy New Year! I'm lucky to be part of a Community Working Group at SCR and that means I get to share one of my favorite loves with you. . . . theater. I'll be sharing discount codes to help you see plays at an affordable price, giving out free tickets to the play, and helping to get the word out about all the great plays at SCR. On that note, I have 2 free tickets to the play, this Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 - let me know if you would like the pair of tickets by emailing me at YvonneFloresRealtor@gmail.com and put FIREFLIESCWG in the subject. Requests must be submitted by 5pm, Monday, January 6, 2020. Good luck to the lucky winner. I'll put all the requests into a hat, and draw the lucky winner. We'll announce the winner by updating this post, and also by reaching out to the winner directly. INFO ON THE PLAY Somewhere in the Jim Crow South, the sky is on fire. A pregnant Olivia’s fierce speech writing is the sole force behind her charismatic husband Charles and his successful Movement to galvanize people to march towards freedom. When four little girls are bombed in a church, Olivia and Charles’ marriage is threatened – as this tragedy and years of civil unrest leave Olivia believing that “this world ain’t no place to raise a colored child.” Come on out and see the play and be sure to use the discount offered by the Community Working Group, DISCOUNT CODE: FIREFLIESCWG . South Coast Repertory is offering a diverse line up of new plays and if you haven't been to the theater in a while, I encourage you to visit soon because there are so many great new plays in store for us this season. Do something fun and new in 2020 - go to the theater and see a play. I'll see you at the theater soon. - Yvonne
